  DATO’ MICHAEL LOH SOON GNEE

   

Dato’ Loh was appointed as ASA’s Director on the 19th July 2006 and the Executive Chairman of ASA on 20th September 2006. He is also the Executive Chairman of ASTI. Dato’ Loh has over the years gained considerable experience in the semiconductor industry and wide contacts in the semiconductor business. Dato’ Loh graduated in 1979 from the State University of New York in Buffalo, USA with a double major in Business Administration and Chemical Engineering. He has over 25 years experience in designing, engineering and distributing semiconductor products, with 20 years of such years spent in the Silicon Valley in California, USA. During his career, he held various engineering and managerial positions in wafer fabrications, research, and development, assembling and testing of semiconductor products.

     
  CHARLES CHER LEW SIANG
   
Mr Cher was appointed as ASA’s director on the 19th July 2006 and the Chief Executive Officer on 6th September 2006. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of ASTI Holdings. He directs business, strategies and operations to shape the Group into a global leader in semiconductor vision inspection and handling equipment and services. Mr. Cher also develops ASTI’s strategic partnership and regional expansion. Mr. Cher started Telford Industries, ASTI’s chip taping operations, in 1990. He also initiated the design and manufacture of ASTI’s own chip taping equipment. Previously, Mr. Cher served as Captain with the Republic of Singapore Navy, Singapore Armed Forces. Mr Cher graduated with Bachelor of Science in marketing and management from the University of Oregon, USA.
     
  DATO’ KHOR GARK KIM
   
Dato’ Khor was appointed as ASA’s director on the 19th July 2006. He is a retired politician in Malaysia. Dato’ Khor was elected and served 3 consecutive terms as an assemblyman for Tanjong Bunga, Penang constituency from 1974 to 1986, and has served respectively as Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Exco Member for Housing and Exco Member for Public Works. Subsequently he has been contributing in public projects such as the establishment of the Penang Art Centre to promote creative work and exhibition. He has also been lecturing and writing on socio-political issues relating to oversea Chinese. Dato’ Khor graduated from Universiti Malaya in 1965 as a Mathematics graduate with a Diploma in Education, taught Mathematics for tens years and co-authored eleven Mathematics books published by Oxford University Press.
     
  TAY CHIN KWANG
   
Mr Tay was appointed as ASA’s director on the 19th July 2006. He is the Managing Director of a local business advisory firm, Five Stones Consulting Pte Ltd. Mr Tay specialized in corporate and business structuring for small and medium enterprises and in merger and acquisition transaction. Mr Tay is a fellow member of the Institute of Certificate Public Accountant and has more than 15 years of working experience, both in audit and commercial sector. Prior to embarking into business advisory work., Mr Tay was the Chief Financial Officer of a main board listed company. Mr Tay graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Singapore.
     
  WOO KWEK KIONG
   
Mr. Woo was appointed as ASA’s Chief Financial Officer on the 6th September 2006.
He is responsible for all financial matters of the ASTI Group and its various subsidiaries in the region. Besides ensuring all financial and accounting procedures are in compliances to the rules and regulations, he also oversees the implementation of corporate financial and accounting policies and guidelines across the Group. Prior to joining the Group in 1998, he worked as the Group Accountant of the Benefun Group from 1996 to 1998 and as an audit supervisor in a public accounting firm from 1992 to 1996. He graduated with a Second Class Upper Honors degree in Bachelor of Accountancy from the National University of Singapore. He is also a member of the institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore.
